Lumina Vision Partners is Hiring an Optometrist Near Austin, TX

Job Description

The Optometrist will use their clinical and people skills to provide high-quality vision care to our patients. This role is responsible for the accurate diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and injuries by analyzing vision tests, identifying sight problems, and prescribing corrective lenses and eyeglasses.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive eye exams.
  • Diagnose and assist in the treatment of ocular disease.
  • Prescribe corrective lenses.
  • Prescribe medications to treat ocular diseases and disorders.
  • Promote healthy vision by counseling and educating patients.
  • Maintain detailed patient records regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and progress.
  • Handle eyecare emergencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree
  • Valid state license to practice optometry
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of patient personalities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A keen sense of workplace professionalism and personal ethics
  • Customer-service orientation with excellent people skills

Working Environment & Physical Requirements

Working conditions include those typically seen in a practice environment; On-site, inside of our practices (no remote work available). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
