Lumina Vision Partners is Hiring an Optometric Technician Near Dallas, TX

Job Description

The Optometric Technician is essential to keeping patient flow efficient as they assist the Optometrist with the vision correction of patients. This role is responsible for greeting customers, obtaining medical history, performing testing, imaging and/or dilation, and cleaning the examination rooms and equipment in preparation for receiving patients.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet and check in patients.
  • Verify and inform patients about insurance coverage and benefits.
  • Ensure proper documentation of patient intake forms.
  • Answer phones and schedule appointments.
  • Assist with patient care and eye examinations.
  • Obtain patient histories and assist patients in frame selection.
  • Prepare patients for the testing and exam processes and administer tests on visual capabilities.
  • Maintain records and inventory and take notes during examinations.
  • Sanitize, organize, and clean the exam rooms and office after each patient.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and perform minor repairs on broken or damaged examination equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to multi-task and work with delicate tools and materials.
  • Self-motivation, and ability to work under pressure.
  • 1 years' experience in optical/optometry industry preferred, but not required.

Working Environment & Physical Requirements

Working conditions include those typically seen in a practice environment; On-site, inside of our practices (no remote work available). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
