PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To prepare one main meal each day.
2. To prepare and serve good tasting, attractive food.
3. To make certain that food is properly stored and refrigerated.
4. To make maximum use of leftovers.
5. To be responsible for the care of the kitchen, its equipment and its cleanliness, with
special emphasis placed on the stove hood vents, the stove, refrigerators and freezers,
can openers, cabinets, counter surfaces and floors.
6. To abide by all State and Local sanitation ordinances.
7. To perform other kitchen tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a High School degree, and be able to plan and carry out all aspects of food
preparation. Must have knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in food service
work, and safe work practices.
CHARACTERISTICS
1. Must have the capacity to observe areas of need, to communicate this need to their
supervisor in a meaningful manner at the same time working cooperatively and through
proper channels with the total staff.
2. Must possess skills to organize a schedule to be followed on a regular basis that will
insure all aspects of cleanliness and orderliness.
3. Must be a self starter, able to follow oral and written instructions, performing a variety of

4. These persons must be clean and neat in appearance and must have the ability to keep the

EMPLOYMENT PROVISIONS
Time on Duty: To be arranged so as best to accomplish the work to be done.
Salary: As provided for in the Annual Budget.
FLSA Exemption: Non-exempt
Benefits: As stated in Personnel Policies and Procedures and determined by
Board of Directors.
