Lukjan Metal Products is a family owned and operated business that has been manufacturing high-quality sheet metal pipe, duct, and fittings for the wholesale HVAC industry since February 1964. Headquartered in Conneaut, OH, Lukjan has production facilities located in Ohio, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Nebraska. These locations have positioned Lukjan Metal Products as one of the leading manufacturers of prefabricated sheet metal fittings in the United States. The facility in Kings Mountain NC allows the company to bring the finest high-quality sheet metal products to our customers in the Southeast.

The successful Carolina site Lukjan Metal Products Human Resources Manager brings-

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related concentration. HR Certification preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of effective Human Resources management progressive experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage facility recruitment, selection, onboarding, engagement, rewards, retention, communication and performance management of both direct hire and contracted associates.
  • Payroll processing administration experience is required. Experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently appropriately prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.

How you will make an impact:

Under the direction of Lukjan Metal Products’ Human Resource Director, the Kings Mountain NC site Human Resources Manager will support the plant manager and leadership while managing external service provider relationships and services to deliver full range HR function high-quality support to the site. This position has a direct impact on direct hire and contracted associate full employment cycle at the site including recruitment, selection, onboarding, engagement, rewards, retention, communication and performance management. Under the direction of Lukjan Metal Products Human Resources Director the Kings Mountain site Human Resource Manager will provided both tactical and strategic HR support by:

  • Managing the Recruitment, Selection, Onboarding, Engagement, Rewards, Retention, Communication and Performance Management processes to meet production needs to achieve customer satisfaction in safely delivering quality products on time.
  • Manage relationships with third-party staffing agencies to ensure a consistent pool of quality applicants are available to meet site production needs.
  • Administering bi-weekly payroll through the ADP Workforce Now Time and Attendance in a consistently timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborating with site management to ensure consistent policy application, maintenance and communication.
  • Promoting an open-door policy for associate concerns and collaborating with plant management on resolution.
  • Conducting safety and performance investigations resulting in team-oriented implementation of corrective actions.
  • Administer associate attendance tracking/policy compliance and leaves of absence including FMLA.
  • Administration of plant Workers’ Compensation program by filing initial reports, conducting thorough and timely investigations and managing open claims.
  • Oversee plant safety program and OSHA compliance.
  • Maintain employee files, attendance records, and job descriptions.
  • Administer site eligible associate benefits administration including open enrollment.
  • Maintain confidentiality.

To be successful the Kings Mountain Human Resource Manager role requires a consistent onsite presence with resources provided and allocation made for the need of a potential rare episodic remote situation.
