Key Functions of the Driller position include

40% of Job Operate Drilling Equipment

• Safely operate drilling machinery according to established protocols and drilling plans. 
• Monitor and adjust drilling parameters for optimal performance and efficiency. 
• Coordinate with the blasting team to ensure alignment between drilling and blasting operations.

25% of the Job Maintenance and Pre-operation Checks 

• Perform pre-operation checks to ensure that drilling equipment and accessories are in good working condition. 
• Conduct routine maintenance on drilling equipment to prevent breakdowns and enhance efficiency. 
• Report and address any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues promptly. 

 15% of the Job Communication and Coordination

• Communicate effectively with the blasting team and other on-site personnel to ensure smooth operations. 
• Provide input and feedback on drilling plans and operations. 
• Participate in team meetings and safety briefings to stay informed on site operations. 

 10% of the Job Record Keeping and Reporting

• Maintain accurate logs of drilling operations, including depth, substances encountered, and time logs. 
• Prepare and submit reports on drilling activities and performance to the supervisor or manager. 
• Ensure compliance with documentation requirements and data management standards. 

 10% of the Job Safety and Regulatory Compliance 

• Adhere to and promote all federal, state, and company safety regulations and policies. 
• Regularly assess work areas for potential hazards and take corrective actions as needed. 
• Participate in safety training and ensure the proper use of protective equipment. 

Candidates should have 3-5 years of previous equipment operation experience, Drill operation preferred and a High School Diploma or equivalent. Other equipment operation experience is great to have.
