Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Medical Records Clerk. As a Medical Records Clerk, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records for our patients. This is an important position that requires knowledge of medical office procedures and terminology.

Duties:

- Organize and maintain patient medical records in accordance with established protocols and regulations

- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all medical records, including patient demographics, medical history, test results, and treatment plans

- Process requests for release of medical records in compliance with HIPAA guidelines

- Retrieve and file medical records as needed for patient appointments or consultations

- Assist healthcare providers in locating and accessing patient information as required

- Maintain confidentiality and security of all patient information

- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate documentation of patient care

- Perform data entry tasks to update electronic medical records systems

Experience:

- 5 yrs. experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred

- 2yrs . experience working in sleep medicine/DME practice a plus

- Familiarity with medical terminology and understanding of basic healthcare procedures

- Proficient in using electronic medical records systems and other computer applications

- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
