As a CNC Machine Programmer within our dynamic design studio, you will play a pivotal role in bringing automotive designs to life. Focused on the creation of one-off parts, you will be instrumental in the fabrication process, from programming 3 and 5 axis CNC machines to the operation and final inspection of produced parts. This position requires a unique blend of technical skill, creativity, and precision to support the realization of innovative automotive designs. Common materials used include high- and low-density urethane tooling and modeling board, composites, aluminum, MDF, plywood, acrylic, polycarbonate, etc.

The Role:

• Program, set up, and operate larger scale CNC machines to produce high-quality one-off automotive parts
• Collaborate with design teams to understand and interpret design drawings and specifications
• Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials needed for each project
• Troubleshoot and adjust machining processes as needed to meet design specifications and quality standards
• Perform regular maintenance and calibration on CNC machinery to ensure optimal performance
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to confirm they meet design requirements and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with company and safety regulations

Qualifications:

• 2 yrs of experience as a CNC machine programmer, preferably in the automotive or related industry
• Strong understanding of CAD/CAM software and ability to interpret complex design drawings
• Familiarity with various types of CNC machinery and tools, including their maintenance and operation
• High level of precision and ability to produce quality parts within tight tolerances
• Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to meet project deadlines
• This role involves standing for extended periods and handling heavy machinery

• Ability to work collaboratively with design teams and communicate effectively
• Basic woodshop skills to process stock block-ups prior to machining
• Solid mathematical foundation for calculating precise measurements
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized workspace

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent; further technical or vocational training in CNC machining or related field is preferred
