LSG Sky Chefs is Hiring a Transportation Supervisor Near Miami, FL

As a Transportation Supervisor at LSG Sky Chefs, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient transportation of catering materials, supplies, and products to and from various locations. You will oversee the daily operations of the transportation department, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to meet delivery deadlines and maintain the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and oversee the day-to-day activities of the transportation team, including drivers and logistics personnel, to ensure timely and accurate delivery of catering materials and products.
  • Develop and optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency, minimize transportation costs, and reduce delivery times. Utilize route planning software and other tools to streamline operations.
  • Ensure that all vehicles used for transportation comply with safety regulations and undergo regular maintenance checks. Coordinate with the maintenance team to address any issues promptly and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with the inventory management team to maintain accurate records of stock levels and ensure that sufficient supplies are available for transportation. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment as needed.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure that catering materials and products are handled and transported according to company standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct periodic inspections of vehicles and equipment to uphold safety and sanitation standards.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with internal departments, including catering production, warehouse, and procurement teams, to coordinate transportation schedules and address any logistical challenges or issues.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to transportation operations, such as on-time delivery rates, vehicle utilization, and fuel efficiency. Generate regular reports to management to provide insights and recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in transportation management, preferably in the food service or hospitality industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise a team effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in using route planning software and transportation management systems.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding quality and safety standards.
