Role Purpose Statement

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Food Department Operations Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of our food department, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with company standards and regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a passion for delivering outstanding service.

Main Accountabilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all activities within the food department, including but not limited to food preparation, cooking, packaging, and presentation.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing waste.
  • Train, mentor, and motivate staff to uphold high standards of performance, professionalism, and customer service.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures and protocols to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality control.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment, facilities, and workspaces to ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, marketing, and sales, to optimize product offerings, promotions, and sales strategies.
  • Manage scheduling, payroll, and staffing requirements to meet operational needs while controlling labor costs.
  • Analyze performance metrics and financial data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Resolve customer complaints and inquiries promptly and effectively, demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the food department.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Experience in hospitality management, culinary arts, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in food service operations, with experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with inventory management software is desirable.
  • ServSafe certification or equivalent is a plus.
