Job Overview:
We are seeking summer Teaching Assistant to join our team. You will assist with curriculum development, classroom management, and behavior management. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in early childhood education and a passion for working with children.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans
- Provide support to students with special needs, including those on the autism spectrum
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Assist with classroom management, ensuring a safe and organized learning space
- Help students develop literacy skills through reading activities and guided instruction
- Support the lead teacher in assessing student progress and providing feedback to parents/guardians
- Collaborate with other teaching staff to create a cohesive educational experience
- Assist with daily tasks such as preparing materials, setting up activities, and maintaining cleanliness
Experience:
- Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education is preferred
- Familiarity with curriculum development and implementation
- Knowledge of working with children on the autism spectrum is a plus
- Strong classroom management skills
- Ability to effectively manage student behavior and promote positive social interactions
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children
