Our Transmission Services is looking for a proven training manager to lead our craft and technical training programs! In this role, you and your team will partner with Construction & Maintenance leaders, Transmission senior leadership, Safety Services and others to ensure our field training serves to build a highly skilled, proficient workforce committed to reliability, safety and quality. This position is responsible for the design, procurement, and in some cases, delivery of in-house training for our field staff. These programs include overseeing the development and delivery of training for substation electricians, highline workers, equipment operators, diagnostic technicians, construction workers and apprentices. This role will also lead designing technical training for other groups within Transmission as well as measuring the efficiency and effectiveness of these trainings and programs.

You will be trusted to:

  • Manage daily operations of all Transmission Services' field training programs
  • Supervise the daily activities and training of our field apprentices
  • Coordinate the design and delivery of both technical and safety trainings
  • Collaborate with leadership to understand training needs and deliver training solutions
  • Staff recruit events with trade and technical colleges along with local high schools within our service territory
  • Partner with vendors to support the coordination and procurement of external trainings
  • Design and deliver new training programs

You qualify with:

  • Twelve or more years of experience in utility industry training, business, operational or financial process improvement, or relevant experience.
  • A degree(s) in business, engineering, industrial operations or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
