At LCRA, we are seeking to find a driven and detail orientated Power Plant Scheduler to join our team! In this position, you will have the overall responsibility to ensure the highest priority work is being performed at all times and that all maintenance resources are being fully and efficiently utilized. This will be done by tracking available resources, reviewing the maintenance backlog and developing multi-week schedules based on plant priorities and work order deadlines. It will be expected that all work, including equipment and regulatory compliance PM’s, are scheduled and completed on time. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of best practices and experience in own discipline to provide and improve services. Takes a new perspective to solve complex problems. Works independently and receives minimal guidance. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May direct the work of other staff members. If this sounds like you, apply today!

You will be trusted to:

  • Conduct a daily meeting with plant management, operations, maintenance and reliability personnel to discuss incoming work requests and current plant conditions in order to determine work priorities.
  • Track available employee-hours on a weekly basis by working with Multi-craft Supervisors to determine annual leave, sick leave, training, meetings requirements for each crew member.
  • Review planned work order backlog, PM backlog and regulatory compliance list and working with plant management, develop multi-week work schedules, scheduling 100% of available employee-hours for the current scheduling period.
  • Work with Power Plant Planners and Multi-craft Supervisors to ensure priority work is being completed as scheduled.
  • Partner with plant management, engineering, asset management, maintenance and construction, supply chain, and SME’s in support of organizational goals.

You qualify with:

  • Nine or more years of experience in industrial (power, petrochemical, pulp/paper, steel, etc) plant operations, maintenance or engineering or other relevant experience.
  • A degree(s) in power generation, engineering, business, science, math or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

You are a great fit with:

  • Experience in operating and maintaining conventional gas and coal fired power plants.
  • Experience in operating and maintaining a combustion turbine based power plant.
  • Experience in maintenance planning principles, including work package development and PM development.
  • Experience with Maximo and in developing and tracking metrics.
  • Proven track record of leadership and creating an environment of employee involvement and continuous improvement.
