Job purpose
T0 organize, administer, and document drug testing. This position is responsible for conducting testing responsibilities for accountability programs within the circuit, reporting information, attending court as needed or necessary, preparing and maintaining files, remaining certified, staying up-to-date on technological advances, and performing other responsibilities as assigned.
Duties and responsibilities
* Facilitate the drug screening process by scheduling drug screens, collecting, preparing, performing, and documenting urine specimens for drug tests and analyses
* Scheduling and performing standard tests and analyses
* Maintain participant records including drug screening orientation, testing compliance, and participant result patterns
* Maintaining laboratory supplies and equipment
* Maintaining inventory through proper documentation and reporting
* Provide services primarily in client homes. Travel to client homes and other locations.
* Schedule screenings at times that are convenient for families, and when problems are likely to occur, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Maintain a flexible workweek.
* Schedule screenings within 48 hours of referral
* Attend court as needed or necessary to present findings, provide court testimony for knowledge of testing policy and procedures, and interpret participant test results
* Make recommendations for drug screening procedures and protocol improvements
*Continue professional development through workshop attendance and other training opportunities within therapeutic community; undergo alcohol / drug treatment specific training
* Conduct regular inventory checks, maintain logs of all products and supplies, and provide inventory reports to the supervisor to maintain adequate inventory
* Interact respectfully with all County, local, and national employees, organizations, and citizens
* Secure client information per HIPAA standards
* Follow safety policies and procedures, maintaining chain of custody on all samples, and traveling to conduct onsite testing
*Maintain case files within paper and/ or electronic health record (EHR) that are up to date

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIRED: All degrees must be from an accredited university.
* High School Diploma (or GED), training and experience in lab protocol and specimen collection
* One to three years of related experience, preferably within a local government -OR- any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
* One to three years’ experience working with young children and families
* Georgia Driver’s License
