Louisville Metro Government is Hiring a Fleet Coordinator Near KY 40218, KY
- Coordinates the emergency vehicle fleet and module equipment repair and preventive maintenance operations.
- Contracts vendors and manufacturers to schedule delivery of vehicles and repair and maintenance of the fleet and auxiliary electronic and medical equipment.
- Enforces safety procedures to ensure safe operation of equipment and employee safety.
- Monitors inventory levels and orders parts, supplies, equipment, and materials.
- Implements and enforces the preventive maintenance program, and coordinates and schedules equipment maintenance.
- Maintains records and files of vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance work.
- Coordinates the emergency vehicle fleet and equipment repair and preventive maintenance operations to assure vehicles and equipment are operational on a 24-hour basis.
- Discusses vehicle, equipment or electronic malfunctions, failures, repairs or maintenance with drivers, prepares work orders and assigns minor repair and service work to subordinates.
- Contacts vendors and manufacturers to schedule delivery of vehicles and repair and maintenance of the fleet and auxiliary electronic or medical equipment.
- Replaces filters, fan belts and light bulbs; replenishes fluids, repairs sirens and electronic equipment installed in dashboard and on the emergency medical module.
- Develops and submits specifications for contracts, participates in contract negotiations and purchases equipment, supplies and materials.
- Provides technical assistance and instruction concerning vehicle and electronic equipment maintenance.
- Performs related work.
- Certificate from a two year vocational program in Auto Mechanics or Diesel Mechanics
- Two years of vehicle mechanical and vehicle electronic equipment repair and preventive maintenance experience
- Must be of good moral character, with no criminal or felony record inconsistent with the provisions of this paragraph. Unacceptable will be persons who have been convicted of a felony, or who have any criminal action pending against them.
- Must submit to a pre-employment drug screening.
- Must submit to a pre-employment polygraph test.
- Applicants who have bought, sold, or used marijuana within one year of application, or have bought, sold, or used any controlled substance or narcotic drug without a prescription within six years of application will be disqualified.
Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work.
