Louisa Food Products is Hiring an Inventory Control and Warehouse Manager Near St. Louis, MO

The Inventory and Warehouse Manager plays a vital role in overseeing the efficient operation of Louisa Food Products' manufacturing and warehouse distribution centers. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position involves multifaceted responsibilities, including optimizing inventory control, enhancing warehouse processes, and ensuring accuracy to support cost efficiency and operational excellence.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain the Inventory Management System to ensure real-time accuracy and reliability.
  • Establish, refine, and enforce efficient inventory controls through training and regular internal audits.
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing to enhance the utilization of the ERP system and minimize production variances.
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Purchasing, Planning, Logistics, and Accounting for seamless inventory management.
  • Proactively identify and address issues that may affect inventory accuracy, implementing effective procedures for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure a comprehensive understanding of the Profit and Loss (P&L) impact of inventory transactions.
  • Provide leadership in managing Inbound operations, encompassing Receiving, Inventory Control, and Logistics.
  • Develop and implement key performance standards and metrics that align with the desired organizational culture and operational objectives.
  • Identify and propose strategies to optimize throughput while reducing labor costs in the warehouse and distribution.
  • Monitor and manage raw material consumption and optimize finished goods inventory to align with production needs.
  • Oversee inventory accuracy across all locations, conducting cycle counts, adjustments, and thorough investigations as needed.
  • Establish and maintain standardized procedures for conducting quarterly physical inventories.
  • Create Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and leverage data to effectively manage the shipping and warehouse departments.
  • Collaborate and provide essential support to various departments, including customer service, supply chain, and manufacturing, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Work closely with the Procurement Department to schedule timely purchasing and delivery of materials and supplies to support production requirements.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Demonstrate a high aptitude for utilizing software platforms and exhibit strong computer literacy, essential for effectively managing inventory systems.
  • Display strong managerial courage, effectively addressing issues and seizing improvement opportunities with leadership and team members.
  • Possess critical thinking skills to identify and resolve emerging issues, ensuring smooth warehouse and inventory operations.
  • Showcase a track record of successfully developing, implementing, and sustaining raw material and finished goods inventory systems.
  • Exhibit experience in efficiently managing inventory movements and meeting on-time shipments to customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, and familiarity with specialized software like Microsoft Dynamics GP (Preferred).
  • Proven experience in an inventory management or similar position, demonstrating a keen understanding of inventory control.
  • Ideally, possess at least 5 years of manufacturing management experience (Preferred).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, along with a commitment to follow-up and a sense of urgency.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field (Preferred), providing a solid educational background for the role.
  • Work Location: On-site, ensuring hands-on oversight of warehouse and inventory operations.
