Associate Attorney

Important Information:

The exact position and compensation will depend on prior experience. We will discuss with each candidate individually.

· This is an in-person only position for our Cocoa, FL office location.

· Prior Collection and/or Subrogation experience is preferred.

· Leadership and/or business management experience is desired but not required.

Role and Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing support to senior attorneys, legal guidance to office staff, handling litigation matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws/regulations, & determining the best course of action to efficiently reach our clients' goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Appear for Hearings

· Appear for Trials

· Appear for Meditations

· Conduct Depositions

· Review outgoing and incoming pleadings and other legal documents.

· Provide legal direction for case handling.

· Provide legal guidance to office support staff.

· Communicate with Clients regarding case activities.

· Communicate with Clients regarding settlement offers.

· Negotiate settlements of civil disputes.

· Supervise legal assistants.

· Prepare legal briefs and opinions, and file appeals in state and federal courts of appeal.

· Gather evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions.

· Make suggestions for improving office procedures & increasing efficiency.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· Member of The Florida Bar in good standing

· Valid Florida Driver's License

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and abilities

· Knowledge of Florida Law

· Knowledge of Federal Law

· Computer Skills-Word, Excel, Outlook, Firm Collection Software, Firm Imaging Software

· Conduct legal research

· Effective Verbal Communication

· Negotiate settlements of civil disputes
