Description

The Year-Round Account Executive plays a crucial role in driving sales and revenue generation for our venue by expanding our client base and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. Their primary responsibility will be to promote and sell our event space and services to event planners, corporations, associations, and individuals.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Generate new leads and proactively reach out to prospective clients in the local market that abide to the Fairplex mission.
• Stay current with industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify business opportunities and adapt sales strategies accordingly. 
• Develop, update and maintain sales contact lists via EBMS software program.
• Build and maintain profitable relationships with clients through regular communication and meetings to understand their event requirements and provide tailored solutions.
• Attend relevant industry events and networking activities to promote our venue and establish relationships with key event professionals (a minimum of 12-15 times per year).
• Conduct facility tours to showcase our event spaces and amenities to potential clients, highlighting the features and benefits of our venue. 
• Represent and promote Fairplex within various key industries and trade shows.
• Prepare and present proposals and contracts to clients, negotiating terms and pricing to ensure successful closures (internally and externally).
• Ask probing questions to uncover any expectations that the potential client may have ahead of time, throughout the sales process, work with the various operational departments at Fairplex to include their input and obtain approvals, when necessary.
• Ensure that the client is aware of all Fairplex policies during the negotiation process; including any requirements by state and local governing authorities.
• Prepare comprehensive proposals and detailed contracts. Any exceptions to the contract template must be made clear in the “Notes” section of the agreement.
• Collaborate with the event management team to ensure a seamless transition of contracted events, providing all necessary event details and specifications. 
• Visit every assigned Fairplex client during their event on-site and follow-up by phone within 48 hours after their event for feedback.
• Assist and/or lead in LA County Fair Special Events as assigned i.e.; group events, third party partners, activations etc. 
• Represent Fairplex in a professional manner at all times, in attire and attitude.
• Meet or exceed personal sales goal, Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Four-year degree from an accredited college or university and 3 to 5 years of sales experience in a related industry is preferred. Must have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Strong computer skills and experience with sales-related software packages preferred. MS software knowledge. Must have the ability to analyze current market trends, research appropriate business opportunities and follow through on leads. Must possess the ability to set and revise goals as the market situation changes.
Requires organizational skills and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment. Requires the ability to work weekends, some evenings.
