A well-established, multi-office, thirty-five-attorney law firm seeks to hire a midlevel or senior litigation associate for its Cleveland office (three days or more per week in person expected). The role is focused on commercial/financial services litigation and employment litigation matters. They seek someone with commercial litigation experience (and ideally employment litigation experience), solid motion and writing experience, and ideally deposition experience. Trial experience is a plus. Base salary is likely $100,000-$135,000 (possibly higher with portable clients), depending on experience, plus a production bonus (25% of collections based on hours billed by the attorney) that can be substantial—$15,000-$45,000 or more for a productive attorney; the bonus also includes 10% based on collections for matters originated by the attorney and worked on by others. The hours are typically 1650 to 1850 annually. They also offer PPO and high deductible health insurance plans, a 401(K) match, and a car allowance. I have placed an associate with the firm and have good ties with the managing partner.
