Job Title: Quality Technician II

Reports to: Supervisor, Quality Engineer

GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:

The role of the Quality Technician II is to verify that received and assembled components are in conformance with design records and to validate finished machines to ensure all customer requirements are met. Through effective and accurate quality plans, processes and inspection, this position ensures high quality components and equipment for internal and external customers. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Quality Inspection

• Execute inspection activities during receiving, assembly and machine verification.
• Read and interpret design, manufacturing, assembly and machine verification documentation.
• Accept or reject components, assemblies, shop orders or verification results based on comparison of inspection results with the design record or specification.
• Track and communicate quality results.
• Execute tool calibration activities.

Quality Processes

• Support Zero Defect mentality.
• Support the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and process requirements.
• Constructively interface with suppliers, engineering, field service, manufacturing and sourcing to drive quality improvements to reduce the reoccurrence of non-conformances.
• Perform root cause analysis on non-conformances, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Plan and perform product and process audits.

Quality Documentation

• Assist in the development of control plans.
• Create non-conformance case reports, communicate appropriately and monitor non-conformances to resolution.
• Lead tool calibration activities and document results.
• Perform quality data analysis.
• Write and submit inspection reports.
