About the role:
We are seeking multiple full-time or part-time Veterinary Technicians to support the urgent care team at our local hospital. The incoming team will never work an overnight shift and will only see non-life-threatening cases. Our ideal candidate is a Licensed Veterinary Technician with strong technical skills, including the ability to obtain blood samples, place IV catheters, run lab work, safely restrain patients, and more, with limited supervision.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform patient triage.
• Provide restraint to assist with patient exams and care.
• Collect blood via phlebotomy, place IV catheters, and provide care, including injections, for hospitalized patients.
• Operate in house laboratory equipment and perform radiographs
• Observe patients, recognize changes in status, and communicate any changes to the DVM(s) in a timely fashion.
• Obtain and appropriately record patients’ vital signs.
• Perform medical treatments as directed by DVM.
• Check in clients, review treatment plans for care, and properly relay discharge instructions upon patient check-out.
• Perform drug calculations as directed by DVM.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician
• Credentials (LVT preferred but not required.
• Experience in an urgent care or emergency setting is preferred but not required
• Time management and multi-tasking skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Collaborative and adaptable attitude
