Lonoke Public School District is Hiring a K-2 Teacher Near Lonoke, AR

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Teaches District approved curriculum
  2. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated
  3. Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students
  4. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students
  5. Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior
  6. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like to communicate these objectives to students
  7. Assist in referring the learning disabilities of students
  8. Evaluates pupils’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate and current records and prepares progress reports
  9. Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes during the instructional day and planning period
  10. Provides challenging and relevant instruction on a daily basis to all students and is able to differentiate instruction to the students
  11. Follow expectations given from administration verbally and written
  12. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner
  13. Participates in the approved evaluation process
  14. Obtains required professional development training
  15. Maintains current teaching credentials
  16. Daily attendance and punctuality are required for the purpose of ensuring the goals of the work unit can be met
  17. Serves as a role model to students following ethical and legal behavior
  18. Display professionalism in appearance, attitude, and actions
  19. Follow code of ethics for educators
  20. Follow all HIPPA and FERPA laws and guidelines protecting student information
