Loma Linda University Health is Hiring a Perioperative Technician SH: Operating Room Near Loma Linda, CA

Job DescriptionJob Summary: The Perioperative Technician, Pre and Post Operative/Procedural Areas, performs designated direct/indirect, age-specific, and developmentally appropriate patient care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN). Follows policies, protocols, techniques, and guidelines. Meets qualifications and competencies as identified in the department-specific Plan for Providing Care. Assists with care and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize customer service in a manner that supports excellence in customer service and safe patient care. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. These services may be provided for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum six months nursing assistant experience or perioperative experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment; perform basic patient care activities using proper body mechanics and safety precautions. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English (and Spanish preferred) in person, in writing, and on the telephone; follow directions; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; collaborate with RN to problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; function within scope of practice. Able to distinguish colors, hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position; discern temperature variances through touch.
Licensures and Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred.
