Loma Linda University Health is Hiring a Health Policy Analyst Near Loma Linda, CA

Shared Services: Health Policy and Leadership - (Full-time, Day Shift) -

Our mission is to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ. Our core values are compassion, excellence, humility, integrity, justice, teamwork and wholeness.

The Health Policy Analyst conducts regular reviews of federal and state health policies, writes policy briefs to help inform the Loma Linda University Health (LLUH) leadership and community, and works on relevant projects that support the vision and function of the Institute for Health Policy and Leadership (IHPL). Works with the IHPL team to support various work of the Institute such as the Spotlight on Health Policy, Health Policy Connection blog, conferences, etc. Searches for project funding opportunities, applies for relevant grants, and fulfills the requirements for the grant(s) upon being awarded the grant(s). Conducts original health policy research and publishes the results at academic and professional conferences and in peer-reviewed academic journals. In addition, forms collaborative relationships with campus partners, community organizations and other stakeholders. Performs other duties as needed.

Master's Degree in public health, public policy or related field required. Minimum two years of experience in public health or policy related field required. Minimum five years of related experience preferred. Valid Driver's License required at time of hire.

Prior policy or research related experience and knowledge of the legislative process, chronic disease disparities, and key health policy issues preferred. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively and professionally with others; be confident and consistent in following policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing and on the telephone; think critically; work independently with minimal supervision; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to meet deadlines and other pressures; pursue accounting problems to an accurate solution in an efficient manner; analyze data and draw conclusions, within tight deadlines; translate dense and complex information into items that are concise and easy to communicate. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; write, hear, read and speak sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with workplace; see adequately to read computer screens and written documents necessary to the position.
