Lofton Staffing Services is Hiring a Medical Assistant Near Slidell, LA
- Greet patients.
- Triages appointments with vital signs, and height/weight as indicated.
- Appropriately documents all pertinent information in the medical record (history, triage, lab results)
- Assists the RN/NP/MD in patient care.
- Assists with registration and front desk functions as needed.
- Conducts all lab tests per NP/MD request.
- Obtains specimens for tests to be performed off-site and in house (CLIA waived)
- Charts lab collection process and results in patient files
- Electronic health record (EHR) and outside laboratory ordering systems
- Completes all required paperwork.
- Prepares outside specimens for laboratory pick up and arranges pick up.
- Ensures results of internal and external labs are received, recorded, and conveyed to the ordering provider in a timely manner.
- Checks clinic supplies and monitors adequate stock.
- Arranges instruments and equipment in exam rooms.
- Maintains cleanliness and maintenance of supplies and equipment in exam rooms.
- Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly quality controls on medical equipment and instruments.
- Alerts Director of Health Center Services of lab control and Q&A issues
- Assists clinical staff with special events, scheduling and conducting screenings as directed.
- Collects data for all required reports (as requested) in an accurate and timely manner.
- Demonstrates positive customer relations.
- Demonstrates a commitment to quality and actively participates in quality assurance activities and quality initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must have 2 years’ experience as an MA.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong, positive interpersonal skills
- Cheerful personality
- Must be polished, professional, articulate, and personable.
- Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug screen.
