Description : Seeking Skilled Maintenance Worker Level II - Assisting Maintenance Workers

Job Description :

• Maintenance work to be performed in security restricted areas.
• Cutting grass & weed-eating (Primary function)
• Employee will be responsible for the operation of radio and beacon equipped tractors with a variety of mowing or chemical application attachments to maintain the grounds.
• Will assist with performing pavement and lighting repairs
• Will perform a variety of mechanical, electrical and plumbing maintenance on buildings and equipment.
• Daily inspections and maintenance of equipment, automotive equipment, and machinery
• Assist with the operation of street sweeper, tar melter, line striper, and other equipment
• Repair plumbing issues such as clogged drains, urinals, and toilets
• Assist with repair of PVC drains, change light bulbs, ballasts, transformers, and splicing wires

Qualifications :

Literacy and ability to perform basic arithmetic, supplemented by working experience resulting in a knowledge of lighting, pavement and grounds maintenance methods and material.

Also, the use of radios for transit and movement in control area.

Some maintenance experience, or related maintenance, repair and minor construction activities, or any equivalent combination of training and experience such as vocational certificate in HVAC, welding, automotive or electrical. Working Conditions :

While duties allow scheduling most work around severe weather, field lighting or damaged pavement may require excavation and repair under adverse conditions.

Work for extended periods in higher temperatures within proximity to exhaust fumes, fuel, herbicides, grass, pollen, dust and very loud noises and during growing season.

May be subject to on-call responsibilities.

Demands are primarily physical.

Must be able to pass an extensive background check.

Must be able to pass a Drug Screen. Schedule : Monday - Friday, 7 : 00 am - 3 : 30 pm #insj Requirements :
