Purpose
The Assistant Director of Laundry Operations will serve as a complement to the oversight and management of day-to-day operations provided by the existing Director of Laundry Operations leadership team. This role will provide staff direction and management of the linen and mechanical operation to optimize plant management.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Responsible for leading an hourly workforce and duties include recruiting, mentoring, and corrective action when needed.
Drives guest and property satisfaction scores
Hires, develops and retains a competent, productive, quality-conscious and customer satisfaction oriented team.
Monitors and maintains operating budgets such as payroll, supplies, equipment, and hospital budgets
Thorough understanding and compliance with health, safety, and industry regulatory agencies
Provide a clean, safe environment for team members
Works in conjunction with Chief Engineer to ensure all plant mechanical equipment is clean, safe for use and in working order.
Plans, organizes, implements and controls Laundry Operations to meet departmental goals and objectives.
Monitors department-based quality evaluation activities, and oversees measures to ensure that Loews, environmental, OSHA and other regulatory standards are met.
Directs operational key performance indicators, which establish departmental operational, financial and service excellence as its norm.
Ensures the achievement of service excellence by implementing initiatives, which promote teamwork and team member satisfaction.
Plans, monitors and manages budgets for the laundry facility.
Works with Finance on weekly and monthly forecasting.
Oversees both the Chief Engineering and the Laundry Operations Management Team.
Responsible for reports required by Loews Hotels & Co. at Universal Orlando Resort, as well as any safety/environmental reports required from County, State or Federal Agencies.
Regular attendance in conformance with standards
May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs
Required to attend all training sessions and meetings

Education: High School Diploma, Business Degree a plus
Experience: 3 years as a Laundry Plant Manager or Director, ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment, knowledge of business and financial tools/processes, ability to determine what metrics should be measured and ability to make decisions off of metrics utilized, ability to develop short and long term plans, excellent communication skills, skilled in leading a diverse team
Licenses or Certificates: Equipment certifications are a plus
Visual or auditory requirements:
Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)
Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point)
Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)
Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
