EMM- Executive Meeting Manager

Job Description

The Executive Meetings Manager (EMM) is responsible for soliciting, booking and servicing smaller groups events groups across all market segments as well as being the main point of contact for arranging group details for onsite events through coordinating BEOs and other servicing needs. This position will serve as one point of contact in the entire sales process from beginning until end to achieve sales objectives in guest rooms and banquets/catering.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Selling guestrooms, meeting rooms and additional services to companies or groups requiring up to 20 rooms per night (group) events (catering).
  • Execute exciting and memorable site inspections/ inventive and creative proposals.
  • Solicit Group business via phone internet prospecting, networking events and outside sales calls to deliver new business and maintain existing business relationships.
  • Prepare, construct, present creative customer proposals, and negotiate contracts.
  • Upon closing, coordinate and follow up with the other hotel departments to ensure delivery of superior guest service to achieve service score goals.
  • Coordinate meetings events with accuracy and detailed communication outlines for the client and hotel departments, providing the appropriate memos, Banquet Event Orders, Group Profiles/Resumes and other communications as necessary. To include set up and/or supervision of execution of events as needed.
  • Ensures that all contracted groups are meeting are exceeding minimum rooms and catering revenues, monitoring for potential attrition.
  • Coordinates menu arrangements for clients that maximize the revenue potential for the hotel, while serving the needs of the client.
  • Obtains rooming lists, monitors cut-off dates, and obtains rooming lists by the due date and in accordance with sales contracts for all groups.
  • Maintains flexible hours to accommodate customer needs, due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry.
  • Reviews group billing to ensure accuracy, including pick up reports, commission statements and planner points.

Specific Experience We're Seeking

  • Self-starter with internal drive to excel in performance.
  • This role is ideal for someone with 1-3 years of hotel experience and a passion for advancing in a sales-focused career
  • Possess good typing and computer literacy skill
  • Selling skills and competencies that are at a minimum industry average.
  • Skill sets and Competencies include but not limited to; contract negations, operating systems such as Lightspeed, Delphi, and Marriott Sales Systems.
  • Flexible work schedule- must be able to host site inspections at any time during a 7 day a week period.
  • Participate in trade shows, conventions, and promotional events within the hotel, industry, and customer organizations.

Language Skills - Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with other business departments, guests, and vendors. Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.

Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, report, or schedule form. Regularly exercise independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance.

Physical Demands - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or telephone. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
