Lockheed Martin is Hiring a Database Engineer Near COLORADO SPRINGS, CO
Description:The primary responsibility of an entry Level Database Engineer is to maintain/sustain the Ground Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) System Database (ASDB) elements.
As a member of the AEHF System Database (ASDB) Team, the Database Engineer executes the workflow tasks which map and transform data as required to support the Milstar Maintenance Team's system database elements (Mission Operations (MOPS) & Test and Training System element (TTSE)) and Command and Control System - Consolidated (CCS-C) databases.
This position involves working within an Agile team to design, develop, inspect, and test both database updates and changes to the AEGF
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Basic Qualifications:
Computer Science, SW Engineering, Information Science or related field/major Degree or experience in AEHF Database Sustainment for MCS Ground systems
Experience with database technologies and architecture.
Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL).
Experience working with a SQL database management system like Oracle, MySQL or Postgres Experience
Must possess active DOD Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
Experience scripting (UNIX/Linux shell, SQL, Perl, and/or Python).
Familiarity with Informatica
Familiarity with CM Control Software (ClearCase, ClearQuest, Git, GitLab)
Maintaining and enhancing the performance of existing database programs.
Monitoring databases and related systems to ensure optimized performance.
Writing new support programs and scripts to increase data storage capacity.
Performing debugging procedures on database scripts and programs, as well as resolving conflicts.
Documenting processes related to database design, configuration, and performance.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Experience with Microsoft Excel
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $55,300 - $106,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
