THE OPPORTUNITY
KFA is looking for talented Civil Engineers with 5 to 10 years of experience in water and wastewater design to join our Austin, Round Rock, or San Antonio office. The successful candidate will focus on municipal water/wastewater projects including the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, pipelines, lift stations, pump stations, and water modeling.
The primary responsibilities for this position include:
Under general direction, perform civil engineering design and analysis on water and wastewater projects for our public sector clients
Working with junior staff and assisting in the direction of other technical staff to produce quality designs and plans and interpreting plans from other engineering related disciplines (survey, utility, etc.)
Developing Feasibility Studies, Preliminary Engineering Reports, and Water and Wastewater Master Plan Documents
Developing construction documents and providing construction administration services
Serving as a Task Manager, Assistant Project Manager, or Project Manager with responsibilities that include budget and schedule management as well as some client interaction
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
5 to 10 years of strong experience in water and wastewater design and construction plan production
Texas PE license or the ability to obtain a Texas PE license within 6 months of hire
MicroStation or Civil3D experience
Ability to work independently at times and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required to build relationships with team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
Specific experience in public sector water and wastewater pipelines
Experience as a Task Lead or Project Manager on challenging public infrastructure projects
Experience with Master Planning or System Modeling
