KOA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Transportation Planner to join our team and support traffic analysis. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to transportation planning projects for various clients, assisting in the development and implementation of innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Able to apply diversified knowledge of transportation planning principles across a broad range of projects.

    • multimodal transportation systems

    • transit networks, facilities, and corridors

    • active transportation networks, traffic, trails, and paths

    • transportation/traffic development

    • innovative technology

    • local land use planning

    • traffic analysis

  • Work with a dynamic team to manage and complete project requirements.

  • Plans, schedules, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of planning work in several large and important projects. 

  • Develops plans for utilizing land and physical facilities of cities, counties, and metropolitan areas, applying intensive and diverse knowledge of planning principles and practices in broad assignment areas. 

  • Performs work that requires conventional planning expertise, but regularly includes complexities such as conflicting planning requirements or difficult coordination requirements.

  • Analyze transportation data and trends to inform planning decisions and recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in urban planning, transportation engineering, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in transportation planning, preferably in a consulting engineering environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage project budgets and timelines.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex transportation concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Proficiency in transportation planning software, GIS tools, and data analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of relevant transportation regulations and policies

The range for this position is between $125k - $145k per annum, based on experience and qualifications.

Work Environment
