In December 2023, Triunity Inc. joined Lochner, a national transportation infrastructure firm headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, providing planning, environmental, design, construction engineering and inspection, and right-of-way services for surface transportation, rail, transit, and aviation clients. We are looking for a senior engineer to join Triunity as an I&C/Electrical Engineer. A successful candidate should be creative, self-motivated, and possess strong leadership and communication skills with a passion for delivering technically excellent electrical designs. This role will be responsible for supporting multiple projects across the US and will likely generate opportunities to develop and expand on existing skills and knowledge of instrumentation and control as well as electrical designs.
Typical Duties:
Develop contract documents for the construction of transit, transportation, and municipal water/wastewater electrical designs.
Led the electrical and/or I&C design for small to medium-sized projects throughout the entire life cycle of projects, from planning and scoping, through the design phase in the development of construction documents, and construction administration.
Coordinate and work closely with multi-discipline design teams.
Ability to prepare P&IDs, wiring schematics, network and control system architecture designs, and control strategies for industrial automation designs.
Perform formal QA/QC or review of sub-consultant or other engineers’ work.
Prepare accurate and complete designs, reports, and calculations as required to meet project requirements.
Conduct field investigations when needed; produce field reports with detailed sketches.
Coordinate with other disciplines and assist engineers and/or designers to ensure quality design.
Keep up to date on new engineering processes, techniques, and standards.
Performing technical electrical calculations for electrical systems using electrical systems analysis software.
Review contractor submittals for electrical and I&C systems.
Develop and prepare scoping documents, work/ hour estimates, scheduling, progress reports, contract review, and monitor project progress for small to medium-sized projects.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, or other degree relevant to electrical and process automation control.
PE license in Washington or ability to obtain within 3 months.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in the design of infrastructure electrical systems involving lighting, power distribution, and low voltage systems.
Experience designing new facilities as well as improvements to existing facilities.
Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
Experience and knowledge of applying NEC, NFPA, IECC and other building electrical codes and IEEE standards.
Experience coordinating with power utilities for service installation.
Minimum travel is required

Mentoring, coaching, guiding and leading group to achieve quality engineering design within budget and deadlines
Effective and comfortable communicating directly with clients, co-workers and contractors, and sub-consultants
The salary range for this position is between $175K and $200K per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
