Job Title: Quality Inspector
Department: Quality
Summary A Quality Inspector ensures the quality and compliance of products or processes within a manufacturing and/or production environment. This position involves inspecting, testing, and verifying that products meet defined quality standards and specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following. Other duties may be assigned
  • Conduct visual inspections and measurements on incoming materials, components, or finished products.
  • Perform various tests and checks to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Implement and enforce quality assurance processes and procedures.
  • Identify and report non-conformances and deviations from quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspection results and quality control activities.
  • Generate and update inspection reports and documentation.
  • Ensure products and processes comply with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to address and rectify non-compliance issues.
  • Investigate and analyze the root causes of quality issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
  • Provide input on enhancing quality control processes.
  • Train and guide production and other relevant personnel on quality standards and inspection procedures.
  • Foster a culture of quality awareness and accountability.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to address quality concerns and ensure the consistency of incoming materials.
  • Conduct supplier audits and assessments.
  • Ensure that measuring and testing equipment are calibrated and maintained properly.
  • Conduct regular checks on equipment accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders regarding quality issues, improvements, and resolutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address quality-related feedback.
Education and/or Experience
  • Required High School diploma or equivalent general education degree (GED) and three five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred associate degree in quality / bachelor’s degree in quality, mechanical, chemical, or industrial engineering or related experience and/or training.
  • Knowledge of quality control methods, tools, and techniques.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
