Job Title: Product Design Engineering Intern
Department: Product Development
Summary Performs fundamental engineering and data processing tasks associated with the design, development and testing of rotating mechanical systems. Typical design products include; Driveline (rotary machine), Suspension (Track and Wheel), and power conversation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Responsible for technical accuracy of engineering definition / documentation prepared for assigned projects including adherence to the Loc Product Development process.
- Design of Structural components and/or test fixtures
- Document/report results of mechanical design analyses using Microsoft office products
- Support the execution of the design verification plan, validating design against the customer requirements
- Support the development of the Loc intranet tool.
- Support the purchasing of componentry by drafting and track purchase requisitions
- Support the drawing review process confirming accurate dimensional definition conveying feature relationships is denoted on drawings.
- Interaction with manufacturing engineering and quality to assure manufacturability of designed hardware
- Support prototype fabrication and test
- Support major design review preparation for customer milestone meetings
