QUALITY MANAGER

POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Manger will be responsible for providing overall facilitation and leadership guidance for the Quality Management System to ensure quality standards are met, meet the SQF Code, customer quality system requirements, and external regulatory bodies. You’d be a company leader, partnering directly with our leadership and support teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Be a cultural fit to LMI including the qualities: team player, desire to learn and grow, glass half-full positive mindset, service oriented with willingness to participate in community outreach activities, of high integrity character.
  • Regularly inspect work to ensure quality standards are met and proper procedures are followed, on all shifts.
  • Ensure that members of the Quality team, along with members of Operations, regularly monitoring and inspecting production, to ensure quality standards are met and proper procedures followed, on all shifts.
  • Communicate extremely timely, and with tremendous professionalism, both verbally and in writing, when customers experience quality concerns.
  • Work hand-in-hand with Operations to develop corrective action plans when quality issues are encountered by customers, and communicate those corrective actions to customers, both verbally and in writing, on a timely basis.
  • Prioritize, schedule and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise the quality staff to ensure the meeting or exceeding quality management system expectations and standards within the SQF (Safe Quality Food) code.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement within the Quality Management System and business growth.
  • Develop and provide training to the site for continuous improvement and educational development of SQF Code.
  • Maintain oversight and facilitate internal and external activities required for effectiveness of the Quality Management System and SQF Certification including
    • Internal audit activities including: Internal Audit Program, Verification/Validation
    • External audit activities including: External bodies (SQF, IMS, FDA, Customers, and Suppliers, etc.)
EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and 5 or more years of related experience in a manufacturing setting; or 10-12 years of progressively responsible related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
  • SQF Practitioner training and experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential.
  • Experience with MS-Office is needed.
