The role: Tortilla Machine Operator & Food Production 

We are currently seeking an individual to produce all our tortillas and chips for both locations, as well as our food truck fleet. This person will train on masa making (that’s the corn!), using the tortilla production equipment (including some basic troubleshooting and maintenance), and other miscellaneous prep & kitchen duties. You'll be working mostly independently in your own dedicated work space. Therefore you must be self-motivated and have the drive to be the next tortilla master! You'll be in charge of quality control of all our masa related food products. And have the bragging rights to say you're one of the few in all of Buffalo to produce our Non-GMO organic tortillas from scratch!

This person will be primarily stationed at our Williamsville location, but should have availability to work at Hertel Avenue when needed. This is a full-time role, with required availability on Saturdays, with primary hours being 9A-5P. A driver's license is required for this role in order to help transport tortillas, driving the lloyd catering van if necessary. Starting wage is $14.50/hr plus tip payouts!

• High School Diploma 
• Ability to work in a physical role, lifting mass batches, standing for long periods during shifts, hand-working masa dough, performing basic production equipment tune-ups, etc. 
• Knowledge of applicable safety policies and procedures.
• A valid driver’s license and ability to pass an MVR check.
• Ability to meet all physical requirements including lifting, crouching, climbing, etc. required in the completion of maintenance and facilities tasks. 
• Confidence in operating machinery on a daily basis
• No specific kitchen experience required! 
• Provide functional expertise to assist training of all subordinate staff.
• Tortilla Chip Production: masa mixing, chip and tortilla machine production, frying
• Line Tasks-utilize fryer, tortilla production and tortilla chip production
• Station setup, breakdown, stocking and cleaning
• Advocate and promote sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness and maintenance of all areas of operation (ServSafe Certified).
• Transportation of tortillas between locations
• Inspect supplies, equipment, or work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.
• Maintaining food presentation and consistency as dictated in Standard Operating Procedures.
• Other duties as assigned, including assuming responsibilities of direct reports when necessary
