Livewire is Hiring a Project Engineer Near Brook, IL

The Project Engineer’s primary role is to support the Senior Project Management team in an effort to learn and grow into the Project Manager role. Duties for the role include but are not limited to planning, organizing, and maintaining project documentation. This position is responsible for completing specific project tasks as assigned, in addition to managing T&M projects or other non-risk projects as they progress. The Project Engineer also ensures that correspondence is properly distributed among the Executive Team in a timely manner, as well as creating and maintaining reports and carrying out other construction-related duties as necessary.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure project documentation is compliant; including project certificates of insurance, and fully executed contracts
  • Ensure all project correspondence is promptly distributed to appropriate parties in a timely manner
  • Prepare and track submittals
  • Keep project accounting software updated 
  • Upload documents into Plan Swift
  • Complete job setup documentation process
  • Prepare schedule and collect field look-ahead’s
  • Set up schedule of values and complete monthly billing submissions
  • Review field daily reports, RFI’s, RFCO’s, T&M tickets, packing slips, timesheets, tool box talks, safety reports, productivity reporting, updating all logs
  • Coordinate mobilization
  • Coordinate field management
  • Setup project plan and contract review
  • Visually, verify as-built markups.
  • Coordinate punch list completion, assemble all tests results, assemble O&M docs, assemble warranties, and coordinate de-mobilization, customer follow up

Requirements:

  • Self-motivated, self-managed, and self directed
  • Handle multiple priorities, duties, jobs/projects, and responsibilities
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn various software systems as needed
  • Protect and maintain corporate confidentiality
  • Handle multiple tasks and projects efficiently to meet deadlines
  • High energy, positive disposition
  • Willingness to work long hours as needed
  • Ability to walk on uneven terrain, and to stand for long periods of time
  • Critical Decision Making Abilities
  • Independent ability to perform take-offs, understand labor hours, use estimating software, process RFCO’s, and assist in bidding

Qualifications:

  • 1 - 2 years construction industry experience in similar role
  • Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with all levels of people
  • Highly detail oriented with problem solving and analytical skills
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Highly organized with ability to multi-task
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred
