Role Description

As a Hardware Support Team Lead at LVT, you will use your mechanical and electrical knowledge to mentor and assist the Hardware Support team in their daily work. You will be responsible for ensuring the team is on task, working on what’s most important. When a member of the team is struggling with a more complicated issue, you will provide assistance to help resolve it quickly. You will monitor the phone queue and help take calls when wait times are exceeding reasonable expectations. When there are no time-sensitive issues to take care of, you will audit the team’s past work by reviewing phone calls and ticket notes, looking for opportunities to coach and improve individual performance.

Responsibilities

  1. Monitor individual members of the team for productivity, ensuring current workload needs are met
  2. Answer questions and provide immediate assistance to team members when needed
  3. Monitor the phone queue and take calls when necessary to reduce wait times
  4. Review the team’s past work (Incidents, Work Orders, phone calls, etc.), and provide feedback both directly, and to the Product Support Manager
  5. Work with the Product Support Manager and the Mechanical & Electrical SME to provide the team with mentorship, documentation, and training

Qualifications: 

  1. Technical Expertise: Familiarity with LVTs product and best practices to remotely troubleshoot hardware. Proficient in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, with experience in hardware support.
  2. Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership experience in technical support or maintenance roles. Strong mentoring and prioritization abilities to guide teams effectively.
  3. Communication and Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills for conveying technical concepts to diverse audiences. Collaborative approach with cross-functional teams and adept at providing constructive feedback.
  4. Problem-Solving Skills: Analytical and adaptable problem-solving capabilities to resolve issues efficiently. Proactive in identifying process improvements for team efficiency.
  5. Customer Focus: Dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service and minimizing wait times. Skilled in monitoring support queues and implementing preventive measures.
  6. Team Player: Promotes a positive team environment, encourages knowledge sharing, and upholds standards and procedures diligently.
