Develops a deep understanding of, and uncovers insights about, the respective communities served. Develops strong relationships with the donation-specific groups and knowledge of individual and organizational influencer groups. Supports the development of a volunteer programs that inspires, drives awareness, engagement, and enrollment. Recruits and trains and retains volunteers via new and existing sources. Continually seeks new potential sources and volunteer opportunities. Supports and fosters the Mission, Vision and Core Values of LiveOnNY and its commitment to organ, eye and tissue donation and tackling healthcare disparities.
Volunteer Coordinator Responsibilities:
Researches and uncovers opportunities for volunteer recruitment and cause activation. Assists in the training, scheduling, management, and retention of volunteers.
Assists in the development and execution of volunteer celebration/recognition events.
Maintains regular and positive communication with volunteers.
Ensures appropriate volunteers are utilized for all internal and external engagements such as staff orientations and meetings, information and enrollment tables, education presentations, media engagements, and special events, while maintaining clarity of duties and assignment roles.
Maintains detailed records of volunteers and volunteer activities.
Monitors staff interactions with volunteers.
Works with Marketing & Communications to ensure appropriate materials are developed and maintained.
Assists in staff and community engagement as needed.
Assists in ensuring adequate volunteer and community material inventory.
All employees, at every level, are empowered and expected to be committed to participate in continuous process improvement.
Other duties may be assigned.
Volunteer Coordnator Responsibilites:
Bachelor’s degree required in public administration, human services, behavioral science or related field.
Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum two years’ experience and/or training in volunteer coordination or OPO experience.
Excellent communications skills a must.
Presentation, training and conflict resolution skills necessary.
