Little Italy Food Hall, located in the heart of San Diego's Little Italy at the much-buzzed about Piazza della Famiglia, is seeking a General Manager which will be responsible for overseeing Not Not Tacos, Samburgers, Graze by Sam, and the Little Italy Food Hall Bar and will be accountable for leading and engaging restaurant team members in creating an exceptional culinary and service experience. Job Description

The General Manager position is responsible for creating the most compelling guest experience. This exists by driving sales through the Service, Bar and Kitchen Manager development. The General Manager is responsible for executing systems to protect the brand experience and ensure the restaurant meets or exceeds financial targets.

A successful candidate should have a passion for amazing food and hospitality and have a commitment to creating the most compelling guest experience possible.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide overall management and guidance to all managers in the restaurant
• Ensure company values are being upheld by maintaining a thriving and positive company culture
• Manage general restaurant day to day operations
• Drive sales and execute sales building initiatives
• Responsible for all food and beverage quality, service, and cleanliness standards within the restaurant
• Responsible for monthly Profit and Loss statement results and required action
• Work with the Regional Operator with recruiting, hiring, training, and developing high quality team members
• Work with marketing department on creating and executing marketing initiatives and successful events and activations
• Conduct performance evaluations and recommend promotions or corrective actions when necessary
• Ensure that operational and training standards are consistently followed and executed
• Respond to guest concerns, both written and verbal, with the ability to creatively solve problems

Qualifications

• 4 years of proven success in restaurant with progressive experience in management roles
• Prior General Management experience in a restaurant
• Strong work ethic and high personal standards for quality of work
• Working knowledge of financials and budgets, operations, and marketing
• Experience in talent management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Organized, team player who is considerate and able to work well with others with ability to coach and develop others, resolve conflict, and promote teamwork and performance management
• Self-disciplined and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks with a sense of urgency
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word)
• Willingness to learn and accommodate industry changes and company directives
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to regularly lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing, and repetitive hand and wrist motion; working with and around hot, cold, and hazardous equipment in a fast paced and congested environment that will occasionally be loud, hot, cold and/or physically demanding. Must also have the ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds. Position could require occasional travel that may consist of driving for a period of one or more days therein requiring one or more overnight stays; notice of travel may be given with very short notice. Position requires occasional training that may take place on or off-site, by phone and/or online.
