As a Courtesy Officer on the Property Management team, you will live on the premises and provide basic security of the community and residents. You will be responsible for walking the property grounds to ensure all safety standards are being met, providing assistance to team members and residents in difficult situations, and ultimately taking ownership for de-escalation of situations. The ideal candidate will be polite, respectful and confident in their interactions with team members, residents, and guests. They will be attentive to their surroundings and will be experienced in managing potential stressful situations or interactions.

What You'll Do

  • Routine security and safety patrol of property and structures to ensure order and establish security presence
  • Ensure all Office and Maintenance Shop exits, doors, and windows are secure and functioning
  • Provide security related assistance and support to residents, guests and vendors in need
  • Professionally interact with residents and guests disturbing the enjoyment of others in the community by issuing warnings, fines (if applicable), pet management, and vehicle issues

  • Monthly light audit and/or report lights that are out on an ongoing process
  • Walk community at lease 1x’s per night, including amenities
  • Create and submit daily logs and incident reports when applicable to the Property Manager
  • Report uninvited guests, suspicious possessions, and all unlawful acts to the proper authorities

About You

  • 2 years of experience as a Security Officer or Guard
  • Knowledge of local, regional, and state legal guidelines for area security and public safety
  • Excellent surveillance and observation skills
  • Basic understanding of how to secure and monitor property
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality and to work in a team environment is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to make logical decisions using sound, professional judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and possess strong work ethics
  • Ability to professionally negotiate and diffuse conflicts that may arise
  • Strong report writing and clear verbal communication skills
  • A High School diploma is required
