Location: Tri County

Position Title: Mentor/Paraprofessional

Reports to: Center Director

Start Date: ASAP

Starting Pay: $16/hr

Insurance: Single Payer Insurance Options with Dental and Vision or Cash in Lieu of $5,000.

Primary Function: The primary function of the paraprofessional is to foster learning for students. The paraprofessional's job is to develop meaningful relationships and motivate students to be successful in their coursework.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Helping students, both in person and virtually.
• Having conversations with students each week; especially students that choose to work remotely.
• Assist teachers in instituting student academic behavior plans and academic interventions.
• Help with enrollment and orientation of prospective students.
• Be an active participant in professional development sessions and in-service learning opportunities. Training sessions may require overnight travel.
• Communicate daily, fostering relationships with either students or their guardians.
• Ability to multitask, initiate and complete tasks with self-direction in a timely manner.
• To maintain our overall appearance of the center as it pertains to the look and feel of our centers.
• Assist in answering phone calls and greeting guests that come into the center.
• Assist in community outreach and marketing for the center.
• Assist teachers and Center Directors in their daily duties.

Qualifications

• At least 60 hours of college credit OR willing to take the Praxis Paraprofessional test to be considered Highly Qualified.
• Experience/skills with computer and computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and student management systems.
• Ability to effectively operate various systems and office equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and public relations skills, including the ability to speak clearly and concisely, both in oral and written communications.
• Paraprofessional applicants must be a self-starter and independent thinker.
