Linfield University is Hiring a Properties Technician Near McMinnville, OR

Job Summary: The Campus Events and Facilities Technician is responsible for the physical setup and breakdown of campus conferences and events. They are also tasked with assessing, repairing, and delivering replacement furniture for various campus facilities. Additionally, this role involves conducting periodic physical inventory inspections of property across campus.

Schedule: This is a full-time position typically scheduled Tuesday-Saturday from 10am-7pm, with flexibility required to accommodate evening and weekend events on campus.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely and efficient setup and breakdown of campus events per specified work orders.
  • Store and deliver furnishings and equipment for events and campus facilities.
  • Maintain residential, academic, and event furnishings and equipment in clean and functional condition.
  • Conduct physical inventory inspections and maintain accurate records of property.
  • Perform on-site maintenance and repair of residence hall furniture.
  • Assess, repair, and request replacement of window coverings.
  • Dispose of damaged furniture properly.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, reporting any issues to the Supervisor.
  • Serve as backup for Mail Services personnel as needed.
  • Assist in training staff and students on equipment use and safety practices.
  • Comply with safety standards and regulations, ensuring safe work practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Six months of relevant work experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and executing written and verbal instructions.
  • Mechanical skills and familiarity with power and hand tools.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Forklift and aerial lift operation certification, or ability to obtain within 3 months.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks in indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Regular lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying of up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 150 pounds using proper ergonomic techniques.
  • Exposure to industrial hazards such as noise, machinery, and hazardous materials.
