Job Overview:
We are a startup, private practice dental office in south Gilbert. We are set to open in June 2024. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. Your primary responsibility will be to provide chairside assistance to the dentist during dental procedures and to ensure the comfort and well-being of patients.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including preparing instruments, materials, and equipment
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
- Provide post-operative instructions to patients
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
- Perform dental receptionist duties as needed, including answering phone calls, greeting patients, and handling paperwork
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices
- Follow proper infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique
- Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures as required

Skills:
- Dental assisting experience, 3-4 years preferred
- Proficiency in OPEN DENTAL or similar dental practice management software
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus
- Ability to perform dental receptionist duties, such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Patient assessment skills
- Knowledge of dental anatomy
