Junior High Computer Science/Technology teacher: Digital Literacy; Computer Essentials; Basic Programming/Coding; Web Development; Video Game Design; possibly Robotics

Overview:
The role of the Junior High School Teacher is to build relationships effectively and professionally with families and students. This position requires a proven ability to develop and maintain a safe place for learning and growth by developing and incorporating an approved, age-appropriate curriculum through effective oral and written communication skills. Attendance at scheduled staff meetings and workshops and preparation for classes is mandatory and not considered overtime. Employee student-facing work time is 7:30 am to 3:00 p.m. with 185 days during the contract period. This position reports directly to the Secondary Principal.
Specific Duties Include:
Develop curriculum to meet developmental goals and instructional activities utilizing various curriculum resources.
Implement technology in lessons and as part of the daily curriculum.
Prepare lesson materials, grade papers, manage the classroom, and evaluate and give feedback to students.
Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff.
Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements regularly and provide progress reports as required.
Create and keep records on attendance, accidents, incidents, and other noteworthy events following licensing guidelines and program policies by updating and utilizing prescribed reporting vehicles
Attend conferences and workshops to advance professional development
Manage student behavior following outlined guidelines and Lincoln Academy Policies.
Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and at the school.
Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.
Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
Participate in ongoing training sessions, PLC’s and professional development.
Create lesson plans and modify them accordingly throughout the year.
Maintain current grades and post weekly updates for students and parents.
Grade papers and perform other administrative duties as needed.
Work with program coordinators to ensure initiatives are being met.
Participate in administrative observations and yearly evaluation process.
Participate in the overall growth mindset of Lincoln Academy by being positive and open-minded with peer groups, co-workers, operational teams, administration, and the Board of Trustees.
Prepare and distribute required reports to the administration team as requested and on time.
Utilize an effective classroom management system to actively reinforce appropriate student behaviors.
Be a model of ethical behavior and integrity as a member of the Lincoln Academy team.
