Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Process Engineer, the Process Technician ensures that the quality of products remains within tolerance to assure consistent production of castings within design specifications and tolerance.

Essential Functions:

• Assist production through the improvement of caster efficiency and scrap reduction.
• Support production with running to process
• Monitor caster operation to assist in scrap reduction by seeking and identifying opportunities for process improvement. (Monitors plant scrap)
• Complete process-related projects as assigned by supervisor.
• Train and assist manufacturing assuring successful launch of new and existing products.
• Completes process review and tooling conditions supporting plant operations.
• Completes Thermal reviews and reports to management team.
• Implement solutions within defined and limited boundaries.
• Assist other Process members with projects.
• Communicate process improvements and project results to members of management.
• Understand cause and effect of defects and their detection

Education and Experience:

• Previous Melt experience is preferred.
• Previous Spectrometer work is preferred.
• Experience working in a manufacturing facility.

Work Environment:

This job operates within a casting facility. Ability to work in conditions which may include seasonal hot and humid conditions, dust, noise, and other elements for extended periods of time.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with scheduled hours Monday through Friday. Overtime may occur during the work week or weekends and will be based on production needs.
