Lighthouse Youth Services is Hiring a Homeless Youth Shelter Director Near Cincinnati, OH
Lighthouse Youth & Family Services is seeking a Director for our Sheakley Center for Youth. The Director is responsible for the effective and safe operations of the 36 bed emergency shelter and street outreach program. If you have a passion for leading within this population, this role is for you!
The Director of the Shelter will be a highly visible agency leader in the Greater Cincinnati area. This shelter assists young people (males and females; 18-24 years of age) who are homeless with learning safe practices and behaviors when on the street, to secure permanent housing, and/or to become self-sufficient with the assistance of case management services.
The Director should be creative, resourceful, detail-oriented, and flexible; possessing a positive attitude, tact, good judgment, cultural sensitivity; and the ability to work well as a team member with employees, community professionals, and volunteers.
Pay Range Starting At $60,000
Essential Functions:
Monitor the ongoing census, program outcomes and compliance with grants and contracts
Maintains fiscal responsibility and cultivates additional funding sources
Ensures positive programming, life skills and service connections for clients
Responsible for ensuring the entire facility is well maintained, clean and orderly
Ensure effective staff training and use of crisis de-escalation and trauma informed care approaches in working with clients
Assists in the writing of grants/contracts and any funder required reporting requirements
Creates and maintains positive relationships with stakeholders
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
At least one (1) year of program management experience.
Experience with the homeless youth population preferred.
Proven experience with government grants preferred.
Demonstrated leadership/supervisory experience.
Possess exemplary interpersonal, oral and writing skills.
Strong ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders, focusing on exceeding customer expectations of the services provided.
Ability to analyze data to develop strategies and measure outcomes.
