Job Summary:

As a Security Guard, your primary responsibility is to maintain a safe and secure environment for people, property, and assets. You’ll play a crucial role in preventing theft, vandalism, unauthorized access, and ensuring safety for all. Security operations may take place in various settings, including but not limited to office buildings, rural estates, and event venues. Candidates must maintain the ability to work in a dynamic environment and be willing to adapt to management requests and operational changes. Some travel may be required with prior notice in advance.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Follow all safety rules and regulations, all work must be done thinking “Safety First”.
• Surveillance and Monitoring:
  • Patrol: Regularly walk or drive around the premises to monitor for any suspicious activity.
  • CCTV Operation: Monitor security cameras and respond to any unusual incidents.
  • Access Control: Verify the identity of individuals entering or leaving the premises.
• Emergency Response:
  • Alarm Handling: Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or distress calls.
  • First Aid: Provide basic first aid if needed and call for medical assistance.
  • Fire Safety: Assist in evacuations during fire alarms or other emergencies.
• Conflict Resolution:
  • De-escalation: Handle conflicts or disturbances calmly and professionally.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with colleagues, visitors, and law enforcement.
• Report Writing:
  • Incident Reports: Document incidents, accidents, and any unusual occurrences.
  • Shift Logs: Maintain accurate records of daily activities during your shift.
• Access Management:
  • Visitor Control: Verify credentials of visitors, issue visitor badges, and direct them to the appropriate areas.
  • Vehicle Inspections: Inspect vehicles entering or leaving the premises.
• Loss Prevention:
  • Theft Prevention: Deter theft by being visible and vigilant.
  • Asset Protection: Safeguard company property, equipment, and inventory.
• Customer Service:
  • Assistance: Provide directions, answer questions, and assist visitors.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a courteous and helpful demeanor.
• State Certifications:
  • DPSST: Must stay current on all Oregon DPSST Certifications.
• For all on -site positions, must show up to work to perform job duties.
• If ever working remote or hybrid model (from home, or offsite location), must be able to travel to LWS office when requested if any company needs arise.

• Able to lift up to 40 pounds and 41 pounds as a two-person lift.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, talk and hear.
• Gathers and analyzes information skillfully. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Licensing: DPSST Armed and Unarmed current license credentials through the state of Oregon. Candidate must poses a Oregon DPSST Firearm Training Card.
• Physical Fitness: Security Guards may need to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
• Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication are essential.
• Observational Skills: Be attentive to details and able to recognize unusual behavior. The ability to clearly and accurately report and document information.
• Integrity: Honesty and Integrity are fundamental to the position.

Working Conditions:

• Shift Work: Security Guards often work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Outdoor Exposure: Depending on the assignment, you may work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Uniform: Uniform will be provided.
• Equipment: Some equipment will be supplied. Firearm and duty belt must be supplied by the employee.
