Job purpose

Lift For Life Gym is located in one of St. Louis’ “urban food deserts.” Without a grocery store located within a minimum 5-mile radius, local youth not only lack money to buy affordable healthy food, but due to unreliable and unsafe transportation options it becomes nearly impossible for inner city youth to gain access to quality food. The Café Coordinator’s purpose is to provide quality food and establish healthy eating patterns for youth members. The Café Coordinator must be dedicated to providing free, nutritious meals for our member’s daily.

Duties and responsibilities

The Café Coordinator duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Cooking and serving food in a safe and clean environment
• Documenting, labeling, and dating all food that enters the kitchen
• Thorough cleaning of kitchen at the end of serve time
• Daily log for snack/dinner (CACFP Program)
• Dinner/snack monitoring
• Log all food count information in the data software
• File all Food Program counts and labels
• Assist in creation of a monthly food menu
• Maintain food program information and provide monthly reports to program manager
• Rotate all food in order of dates

Qualifications

We require all kitchen staff to maintain an up to date ServSafe Certification.

Physical requirements

The position requires light lifting of kitchen equipment, pantry food and supplies.

Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: 12 – 16 per week

Shift:

• 4 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift

Weekly day range:

• Monday to Friday

Ability to Relocate:

• St. Louis, MO 63106: Relocate before starting work (Required)
