Lifetime Eyecare is Hiring an Optometric Technician Near Jenison, MI

Optometric Technician

Here at Lifetime Eyecare we pride ourselves at working at the highest level of customer service/patient care. We treat each patient like we would our own family. We want to deliver a memorable and lasting impression to insure a life-long patient.

We are looking to add an exceptional individual to our growing practice, approximately 25 hours/week, with the potential to turn into a full time 35 hours/week position. No optical experience or certification required; training is provided!

Responsibilities: What would you do?

Scribe/Tech:

- Assist optometrist with patient examinations and procedures
- Perform preliminary tests and measurements, such as visual acuity, tonometry, and lensometry
- Administer eye drops and other medications as directed by the optometrist
- Prepare patients for contact lens fittings and assist with contact lens insertion and removal
- Educate patients on proper eye care, contact lens care, and eyewear options
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in electronic health records system
- Clean and maintain examination rooms and equipment
- Order and stock necessary supplies for the optometry clinic

Qualifications and Skills: Are you the right fit?

- Proficient in using computer systems for scheduling appointments, entering patient information, and billing purposes
-Effective interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology related to the eye
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Ability to follow instructions from the optometrist and work effectively as part of a team
- Knowledge of medical billing processes and insurance verification
- Experience working in a medical office or ophthalmology setting is preferred

This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, professional, and dedicated to providing exceptional patient care.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 34 – 37 per week
