Primary Position Objectives
The Residential Living Manager will plan, coordinate, and manage the administrative and programmatic activities of the department. Provide staff training, evaluate staff performance, and recommend and implement departmental changes as approved by the director of career success, and human resources prior to implementation. Establish, implement, and supervise control procedures to maximize student living standard; coordinate student participation.

Administration
Procedures
  • Responsible for the management of the department which includes Recreation and Residential Living
  • Develop and implement training plan for staff
  • Provide support for an active and effective dorm leadership program
  • Operate dormitory area, coordinate services, conduct counseling and resolve problems and assist students with their daily living needs
  • Manage all student incidents and ensure that individual meetings with students address issues and express plans to resolve problems
  • Maintain student files and dormitory areas
  • Ensure that residences are attractive, clean, safe and in good repair
  • Ensure student accountability and information is submitted accurately and in a timely manner
  • Monitor student leave requests, attendance and Absent Without Leave (AWOL) retrievals
  • Maintain contact with students who are in AWOL status and makes every attempt to retrieve them from this status
  • Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
  • Ensure a robust recreation program that is all-inclusive

Two years' experience working with youth
Two years supervisory experience
Experience may include successful Job Corps experience or other youth development programs
Education
Associate’s degree or higher
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid State Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
